Being with the Weight of Not Enough
Dear Sensitive Perfectionist,
You’ve been trying so hard
to fit in,
to get it ‘right’,
to find a way to thrive rather than survive.
But, you keep carrying the weight of “not enough”.
You’ve tried
releasing it,
ignoring it,
self-improving your way out of it.
And yet here it is, still.
So what if, instead of trying to get rid of it — you learned to be with it?
Being with the Weight of Not Enough is a 17-minute guided meditation for the highly sensitive perfectionist who is tired of feeling like they're never quite enough, never quite doing enough.
I know this weight intimately. Because I've carried it too. And what changed things for me wasn't working harder — it was learning to turn towards the feeling of “not enough”, gently, with curiosity, instead letting it take the driving seat. This meditation invites you to do the same.
You'll be gently guided to:
Listen to your body's wisdom — which as a sensitive person, you already know how to access
Simply notice and welcome what's already here — without fixing or changing yourself in any way
Meet both your inner critic and the tender part that takes on its words — with curiosity rather than combat. No arguing back, no proving yourself, no appealing your case. Just a quiet turning toward, without taking those words on as truth
Work at a deeper level than positive thinking or challenging your thoughts — through felt sense rather than white-knuckling with willpower
Reflect on a couple of gentle prompts before and after, so the experience becomes personally meaningful rather than simply a nice thing that fades by lunchtime
You won't be going anywhere difficult alone — you'll be gently guided every step of the way.
Over time, the skills you begin to build here can help you:
Stop worrying so much about what other people think
Stop dreading making a mistake
Loosen the grip of perfectionism — and breathe and move a little more freely
Begin to live with more joy, ease, self-belief and acceptance
Imagine giving yourself permission to simply arrive as you are.
Without striving for an outcome or worrying about how you will be perceived.
To rest inside yourself rather than brace against.
To meet your inner world with kindness.
To know, in your bones, that your worth was never something you had to earn.
It’s something you always possessed.
Hi, I’m Lisa
I’ve spent my whole life trying to be someone else.
Masking.
Performing.
Pleasing.
Leaving myself over and over again.
I cared only for perfection and acceptance from the outside.
I decided in my 40s that I’m going to stop all that and just be me.
Easier said than done of course!
I am here to share with you the ways in which I have come to learn how to accept myself for who I am.
My sensitivity. My anxieties. My emotions and feelings. What I actually want.
If you’re struggling like I did, and quite honestly, I still do, let me help you develop a better relationship to yourself. It’s time to finally put down all the people pleasing, the worrying, all the unwanted behaviours, and persistent need for external validation.
It’s time you get to be you!
